Ginsburg was appointed the Supreme Court in 1993 by President Bill Clinton. She was known for her soft-spoken demeanor that masked the analytical mind. Ginsburg changed the way the Supreme Court viewed issues, especially on women's rights. She fought against gender discrimination and unified the liberal block of the court. Ginsburg attacked areas of discrimination and violations of women's rights. She wrote most of the opinion in the United States vs Virginia defending that women who are qualified can not and will not be denied from the Virginia Military Institution. She assisted underserved women by stating we deserve automony over our bodies. Ginsburg was a role model and inspiring in the courtrooms. Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed away on September 18th, 2020 from metastatic cancer of the pancreas at the age of 87. She stood tall and always fought for what she believed in. Ginsburg is an astonishing role model and we must continue to advocate for ourselves and other women and young girls around the world. She put women's rights on her shoulders if it was not for her we would not be where we are today.
